Golden ring (Россия)
The basis of this all-inclusive tour is a famous selection of Russian Province towns well-known as Golden Ring. This is a trip for bikers who have an interest in history, culture and architecture. Typical Russian towns with Monasteries, Churches, Kremlins, very calm and cozy small wooden houses which were built in middle centuries and still have the ancient atmosphere.
Day 1. Moscow arrival
Time for leisure. Welcome dinner in the evening.
Day 2. Moscow
Moscow city tour in the morning. Briefing, motorcycles pick up and paperwork in the afternoon.
Day 3. Moscow – Kolomna – Ryazan’, 210 km
Early in the morning we leave from Moscow to Kolomna, one of the oldest Russian towns, where we visit a fortress built in 16th century and see an interesting show of worriers, who will teach you how to behave like ancient Russian worrier. After that we will head to Ryazan’ for overnight.
Day 4. Ryazan’ – Vladimir – Souzdal, 290 km
Today we visit two pearls of our route Vladimir and Souzdal, which carefully keep their history and old architecture. There are a lot of myths and legends going around. We sleep over in Souzdal – a picturesque green town, where you can also feel the Russian country life and enjoy walks around fairy tale dome convents. Atmosphere in Souzdal is as if nothing has changed since the nineteenth century – goats, chicken and cows graze freely next to the kremlin and monasteries. We will have a wonderful walk around the town.
Day 5. Souzdal — Nizhniy Novgorod, 340 km
Enjoy riding through small villages and towns, crossing Volga river by ferry. Arrival to Nizhniy Novgorod, accommodation at the hotel for 2 nights.
Day 6. Nizhniy Novgorod
Relax and explore! City tour in the morning, afternoon is for leisure activities.
Day 7. Nizhniy Novgorod – Ivanovo – Plyos, 320 km
Ivanovo, which we visit today is considered to be a town of brides, as in Soviet times there was a biggest textile factory and women from every part of our country came there to get a job. But the final destination of our day is Plyos. We visit one of the smallest towns of Golden Ring, but also enjoy a pleasant atmosphere of calmness and harmony. It lies on a picturesque bank of Volga river and attracts a lot of famous Russian artists, who used to and still come here for a holiday.
Day 8. Plyos – Kostroma – Yaroslavl, 165 km
On our way to Yaroslavl we visit an elk farm. Yaroslavl, founded in 11th century, played a great role in Russian history. There are many ancient buildings, which keep its historical secrets. Here we visit the acting Monastery and see a real life of nuns. In the evening we have a short walking tour around the town.
Day 9. Yaroslavl – Myshkin – Uglich, 170 km
Myshkin (town of mice) – our next stop with a lot of interesting museums — of course, the Museum of Mouse, but besides, the Museum of Russian merchant, Museum of Wooden Architecture, Museum of Russian vodka as well as Museum of Handicrafts. After such a great museums tour we ride to Uglich, the town where all Volga cruiser ships stop for overnight and excursions. Uglich also has a lot of interesting museums, and we will also visit them depending on our free time and possibility.
Day 10. Uglch – Pereslavl – Moscow, 285 km.
On our back way to Moscow we stop in Pereslavl, favorite town of Peter the Great. When we come back to Moscow, we drop off our motorcycles and enjoy the city to the fullest. In the evening we have farewell dinner planned.
Day 11. Departure
If you wish, it is possible to prolong your stay in Russia, in which case it will be our pleasure to recommend you some nice places to visit.
